Educational and Training Programs
Food safety education, training and technology transfer programs are established under the direction of the  Industry Advisory Board and the participating companies. Classes are held at ICFST and various locations around the state. Classes offered include:
 

• Basics in Biotechnology

• Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP)

• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) for Food Manufacturing

• Juice HACCP

• Food Entrepreneurship

• Food Exporting

• Food Law and Regulation

• SBIR Technology Funding

• Refrigeration Principles
   

Training Opportunities 
IIT offers Masters degree programs in food safety and food engineering. These programs will be marketed and offered to food companies who feel their employees need increased expertise in food science. Classes and seminars will provide a certificate of attendance so that employers can keep track of training. We are able to offer these classes over the internet through IIT's distance learning technology. 
 

Strategic Alliances with Food Experts 
The Illinois Center for Food Safety and Technology has established alliances with food experts to help with member companies' specific needs.

Usage of Pilot Plant 
The ICFST provides assistance in test trials for packaging, processing and product development.
